What breed of dog should i get?

hi, me and my mom are thinking of getting a dog but were not sure which breed we want and would like some suggestions. were looking for a medium or small sized dog, very short fur as we can be allergic to dogs :L, not too much trouble, friendly, easy to take care of. and i think that's about it, so please could you give us some suggestions as we could really use the help. thanks :)
