My girlfriend sports a mohawk "down there"?

Not only does she gel it so that it spikes up a little, but she also dyes it bright red. Then she asked me to do the same with my pubic h*ir. She says it would be our equivalent of couples having matching leprechaun tattoos. Is this normal? It is the latest trend or something?
