How do mice like to be petted?

The only time I ever had mice was two newborns that I saved from being lizard food but sadly they died because they were to young without a mom, but I did have rats and from past experience they loved to be pet on like there ears like just feeling there ears, I don't know if your mice will like it but I had like 13 rats and they all loved it.
