Does a guy prefer no vaginal hair, a trim, natural, mohawk, or something else?

I just shave my hair all off in the shower, but men seem to get surprised when they see me. Am I just being overly self conscience? Is it okay to shave in the shower, health wise, or should I go to a spa for waxing. Problem is, it grows fast and I need to shave daily, especially on a date! :)
